For our competition there are 2 series of events (static and dynamic) that get added together to total our overall score. Teams are scored out of 1000 points, a detailed breakdown is below.

Static Events

Design Event (150) - evaluates a team’s adherence to good engineering design principles

Cost Event (100) - measures how we factored cost production into our design decisions and manufacturing

Presentation Event (75) - judges our ability to pitch our car’s feasibility in serving the needs of the amateur racing market

Dynamic Events

Acceleration (100) - straight line speed on a 75m track

Skidpad (75) - measures the vehicle’s cornering capability by measuring the time required to complete a figure of eight circuit

Autocross (125) - tests the car's maneuverability and handling qualities on a tight course without the hindrance of competing cars

Efficiency (100) - measures our energy use during the endurance event

Endurance (275) - test of the car’s maneuverability and handling over a tight course with a series of straights and turns
